learning to be at peace with risk
has been the lesson of my lifetime
It has been me, over and over again - the perfectionist who wants so badly to be on the other side of her dreams.
"If I get that thing" then I will finally have this feeling."
"Once I get this I will be able to accept that."
"I know, it's just that..."
For a long time, hyper-perfectionism was the endless motor for the movement of my life - plummeting me forward toward the land of success, safety, and acceptance. I have had a wild journey with glorious milestones along the way, but I was running on unsustainable energy. I made the choiceless choice to embark upon my own healing.

Movement has humbled me & built me up, destroyed me & made me whole. I see that by being with sensation, I come to a deeper relationship with my moment-to-moment reality. I treasure each time I laugh, each time I cry, and each time I sweat.
Being at peace with risk is an opportunity for contemporary and modern dancers to tend to the way they approach their learning experience, career planning, and (dare I say) moment-to-moment reality.

In a community where pushing is rewarded...
I explore softness
In a practice where age is seen as a limit...
I grow wiser and stronger each day

In a mindset where mistakes are a sign of weakness...
I see a token of great information
In a world where hustling brings safety...
I remember I am already safe

On a race to the finish line...
I enjoy the ride

What will we do?

Every dancer is in a different place on their journey. To imagine who and where you are is fun, but realistically I need to meet you to see where we are and where we are going. These are the tools I've reached for lately in my ever-evolving teaching practice:
- breathwork
- anatomical knowledge
- energy-work
- repetition
- a set class structure
- resistance training
- group sharing
- private reflection
- a shared playlist

Where are we going?
We are reprogramming the way we approach our personal and professional movement practices. By adapting our mindsets, settling our nervous systems, and softening our muscles, we become living tuning forks for sustainable and healthy movement practices.
Who is this for?
This offering is for people who have a significant relationship with their dance practice. This could apply to current professional dancers, pre-professional or collegiate dancers, and adults who danced seriously in their childhood or adolescence. Dancers will need to have previous experience picking up new material to benefit from my current offering. Aesthetically, the movement patterns of the class present as a release-based contemporary class.
What is the investment?
At this time there is no set cost. Negotiation will be part of an individual conversation that will vary based on many factors like interest, travel, and length. Please see below for current and future offerings.

Why are you offering this class?
I believe 'being at peace with risk' is the work of my lifetime. The lessons I have learned so far have radically changed my connection to moving, growing, and living. By sharing this gift, I hope to bring a greater sense of security and peace to those who seek it.
“As you become a more developed dancer throughout this practice, not only are you getting to dive deeper into your connections with dance, but you are also gaining transparency in engaging with the world around you.”
